I recently came into possession of a few bags full of old Kodachrome slides that someone in my family had taken back in 1949. Not sure exactly who the photographer was or what kind of a camera they were using but it looks like they were having a quality time tripping around California.
Starting off at Mountain Springs Stage Station. There was once a toll station here for travelers venturing from Ft. Yuma to San Diego that was built around 1870. It’s still possible to visit this area if you head east from San Diego on the 8 freeway.
